Welcome to my blog. My name is John. I’m just a little guy from a small Midwestern town. After nearly 14 years, I moved from the complex metropolitan world of NYC to Michigan and recently to Indianapolis, still finding my place while making friends along the way. I was an economics major at Yale and worked in finance most of my career as an investment banker on Wall Street; now I work for a large nonprofit using my financial and business skills for social good. Wall Street was fun while it lasted…okay, that’s a bit of a stretch. In my spare time, I had served as a trustee and volunteer treasurer for a non-profit charter school that works with disadvantaged kids in the south Bronx of NYC for about five years and will probably do something similar here once I find the right opportunity.
Disclaimer:
Although this is a “blog”, I should warn you that the intent is really just to have an outlet for my thoughts…I used to keep a journal but having an online version makes it so much more convenient. Many people write blogs to be informative, others to make money; for me writing seems to be a good mental therapy. With that in mind, I hope you find my posts amusing or interesting, but if not…well it was never meant to be in the first place. 🙂
In case you are wondering, the pics in the postings are those that I’ve taken myself, 99% are with my iPhone and the rest are with my Nikon D5000 SLR.
